CPAP Purchase & Prescription Guide

CPAP & BiPAP Prescription Requirements

MedPlus Medical Equipment carries CPAP and BiPAP machines and supplies from leading brands. These machines are designed to help patients living with sleep apnea find a more restful sleep. In order to purchase a CPAP or BiPAP machine, mask, humidifier or other respiratory equipment, you'll need a prescription from a licensed medical professional. The prescription should specify the exact type of equipment you'll need, including the type of machine and required pressure level.

We can also assist you in receiving a prescription if you do not currently have one. The information you'll need to provide us includes:

  • Physician's name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Fax number

Who can provide a prescription for me?

CPAP and BiPAP prescriptions can be provided by:

  • Any licensed Medical Doctor
  • A Doctor of Osteopathy
  • A Nurse Practitioner
  • A Physician's Assistant
  • A Dentist

Does my prescription expire?

No. Once we have your prescription on file, you may reorder your supplies as often as your prescription allows without having to renew your prescription.

What does my prescription need to contain?

Prescriptions should be on a standard prescription pad that includes your physician's signature and contact information, your full name and a description of what the prescription includes.
